DBLO were commissioned to design a contemporary beach residence. insulated concrete sandwich panels were chosen to maintain a minimal palate of materials suitable to the site conditions, as well as help maintain an acceptable temperature within the building.
The orientation of the building plot was considered with the minimum amount of openings facing south. and integrated canopies and screens to increase sun screening and reduce solar gain within the house. larger openings appear on north facing walls or set back from deep cantilevers or terraces above.
